What a weekend!

So thanks to alot of help and hard work, this weekend was full of home improvements! The weekend started off with me finally giving into getting a new TV for our living room! Bill was so excited and I admit it was time to upgrade from the huge tube! Our living room looks so much better with the big TV gone. So then I decided to give craigslist a try and put our old TV on there to sell. Within 3 hours it was gone! It was awesome! I love craigslist! My parents came in on Friday morning and we worked in the yard. We planted some flowers, a tomato and a mint plant. :) My dad is going to help me start a garden and I am so excited. When Bill got home from school he told me about a couch we needed to look at. A teacher at Bill's school was moving and selling her huge sectional couch. It was way too big for our living room but since it was a sectional we decided to take a look at it to see if it would work. So we ended up getting a new couch on Friday evening. Luckily my parents were in town because there was no way I could have helped Bill move our old couches out and new ones in. We were taking our old couches to the garage sale but before we got all the couches over to her house a friend already bought them! We are so lucky! So we were able to get rid of all of our old furniture and got some beautiful "new" furniture also. I was so excited because our house is finally getting some TLC and is looking really good. So Saturday morning was back to the yard work. My mom and I worked in the front and got the beds looking so good! Dad and Bill worked in the back yard and it is looking so much better! My parents left to head back home Saturday afternoon and Bill's parents and sister came to town. Bill's dad replaced out kitchen faucet and is going to be replacing all of the bathroom ones soon! It looks so good! Bill's mom was busy mudding the hall bathroom and I got to try my hand at mudding for the first time. I love it! It is so much fun and I think it will look so good once I get finished painting. Bill's parents left Sunday afternoon and Bill and I decided to relax after such a busy weekend. I have been busy this week painting the cabinets, trim and ceiling in the bathroom so that then we can paint the walls. It is alot of hard work but it is looking so much better. I will have to get pictures up in a later post after everything is complete! And where was Emma during all this work you might ask, well she was a perfect little girl and loved being outside while we worked just playing in her swing. She is a great baby and is getting such a personality! Pictures soon.....
So excited that a bird found the bird seed I put out!

My mom and I planted some potted plants around the back.

Bathroom, a work in progress...

The front bed my mom and I cleaned out and mulched.

Pretty flowers my parents brought us and our red front door. I needs one more coat of paint!

*Spring Break 2011*

Spring break has come and gone much too quickly! It was great to get to have Bill home from work and get to travel a little and see or families. We started off the week by going to Bill's parents for a visit. One of Bill's coaching friends got married on Saturday and Bill and I enjoyed a fun night. The next morning we went to church with Bill's family and then had a little "eat and meet" with Bill's aunts and uncles so that they could meet Emma. We had so much  fun and loved getting to see everyone. Monday morning we headed back to Athens for a day to catch our breath and repack before heading to Canary. We decided to surprise Gran and Pa by showing up Tuesday afternoon instead of Wednesday. They were very surprised and excited. We spent the rest of the week there hanging out with more cousins that had not gotten to meet Emma yet. It was great to get to see family and spend a relaxing week at the farm. Also we got to take care of the neighbor's horses and cows while they were gone and they gave Bill and I the invite to get rid of the hogs on their property. Bill was thrilled and we spent most mornings and evening riding around on the gator to find the hogs. We saw them a few times but never got a shot on them. Oh well, I have just as much fun just going out there and looking around. It was beautiful weather for us to be outside this week and we enjoyed some nice family walks. Emma loves the farm! We got back to Athens on Saturday and relaxed and did lots of laundry! Not looking forward to Bill being back to work but it does mean that summer is that much closer. He told me this morning he only has 10 more Fridays of work! Crazy!
Emma had her 2 month appointment this morning. She weighs 12.2 pounds and is looking great the doctor said. She got her first shots today and did great! She took Madee's advise and was a brave girl! We are looking forward to seeing Gran and Pa one day this week and then seeing Grandma, Grandpa and AJ this weekend!

My little Lady bug!

Kisses from Daddy!

So sweet!

With Dad before church!

Where we are...

Bill and I got married in July of 2010 and so much has happened in our lives since then. Here is an update on where we are.

Last May Bill got a job with Athens ISD as a teacher and coach at the middle school. This was such an amazing blessing to get a job after only interviewing with two districts. So we began looking for a place to live in Athens. Having never been to Athens much less looked at houses I wasn't sure what we were in for. After a few months of searching we found our house! Bill actually completed the process of getting the house without me ever having seen the house in person! Scary I know, but I trusted him! It is perfect for us and is a great fit with plenty of room for family and friends to come visit! We closed on our house in December and it feels so weird to say we are homeowners.  A funny story about being young homeowners, a door-to-door salesman came by last week and when I answered the door he asked to speak to my mom or dad! :) At least I am still "youthful" looking!

In July in the midst of house hunting and relocating Bill and I got married! A huge thank you to all of our family and friends who made that day possible and the best day of our life...for the time being. :)

Fall 2010 brought many changes for us. We were getting used to being married and also getting used to a semi-long distance relationship. I still had one semester of college left before graduation so I lived with my parents during the week and every friday headed out to Athens to see Bill. Bill was keeping busy with football during the fall and well in to winter due to the success of the Athens Hornets last season. He loves coaching and I love watching him coach! I am looking forward to the coming fall when I will be able to go to the games without having to drive in from Bryan every weekend. Another huge change for us was the upcoming birth of our sweet baby! We found out on Aug. 31st that we were going to be having a baby girl. I have to admit, and sorry for those who have not been as lucky, pregnancy was a breeze for me. Knock on wood I know, the next one (if there is a next one) with be brutal! So through doctors appointments and traveling up and down the road the fall seemed to go so slowly! Also on an exciting note, this fall I said goodbye to the Mustang. I upgraded to a more "family friendly" what I call small SUV. (I know its a crossover though.) December brought many exciting events for us. Both Bill and I had birthdays and I graduated from Texas A&M University on Dec. 17th! We then celebrated Christmas with both of our families. The holidays were such a great time but it was so good to be back in Athens together finally.

Happy New Year! The new year also meant we were that much closer to meeting Emma! I was due Jan. 26th but since we were living in Athens and my doctor was in Bryan we had scheduled to be induced Jan. 20th which also was my dad's birthday which I was very excited about! I was living with Bill in Athens until Jan. 11th. At that point we decided it was best for me to stay with my parents just in case she decided to come early. The next weekend we had a false alarm and Bill rushed to Bryan only to get a sleepless night, no baby. But it did get him out of the basketball tournament that weekend. So the next week was the upcoming big day. Bill went to school on monday and tuesday that week and headed to Bryan after school tuesday the 18th just to be there with me until the 20th. It was all in God's plan because About 30 min. after Bill getting to my parents' on the 18th we were headed to the hospital. This time, the real thing. We were admitted to the hospital about 6:30 pm on the 18th and at 5:16 am on the 19th we welcomed Emma Elizabeth to the world! It was by far the best day of our lives! :) Emma was a healthy 7 pounds 1.6 ounces and 20.25 inches! We had the waiting room filled with family and friends and we were so glad everyone could be there to share this with us! Even though she was a day early, I think my Dad didn't mind having an early birthday present! We headed home from the hospital on the 20th and after a week with my mother followed by a week with my mother-in-law we were finally starting to settle into a routine. I loved having the help and those two weeks with them were a very special time for me and for them.

So here we are 7 weeks 1 day later, life is going great. Emma is healthy and doing so good! She is such a good baby and I love dressing her up with her big bows and all her pretty clothes. Everyone keep an eye on your mailbox, birth announcements will be coming soon! Bill is in the middle of track season and looking forward to the end of April when he will have a slight break in sports for a little while. I am filling my days browsing the internet, looking for jobs for the fall, being a wife and being a mom. I love every second of it and would not have life any other way. God has blessed us with the most precious gift and the most wonderful friends and family we could ask for.  Posts from now on won't be this long but I just wanted to update everyone on where were are in our life right now! I won't make any promises on how often I will post but I will try to keep everyone up to date with happenings in our life.

P.S.- Bill is going to make so much fun of me when he finds out I made a blog! :) Oh well....

Here goes....

So I swore I would never be one to have a blog and look where I am! But with a coach for a husband and a sweet baby in our lives I find myself with a lot to say and no one to say it to a lot of times. So blogging world guess what...you get to read about it! I can't promise the quality or that it will be of interest to you but here it is, take it or leave it! :)
